2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport

General Motors has revealed the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport as it returns to the brand’s illustrious racing heritage. The new Grand Sport combines the Corvette’s LS3-based powertrain with unique, wide-body styling and racing-bred suspension. Beneath the bonnet, the Grand Sport retains the LS3 6.2-liter V8 rated at 430HP (436HP with the optional two-mode exhaust system) and 424 lb-ft or 575Nm of torque that can be matched to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Corvette claims that these upgrades enable cornering capability of 1.0 g, as well as a 0.2-second improvement in 0-60 acceleration compared to the standard LS3-powered models. [LeftLaneNews]

I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED VETTS. AMERICA’S CAR. I REMEMBER WHEN A NEW VETT WAS “ONLY $15,000.00.” IN 1980, MY SENIOR YEAR OF HIGHSCHOOL, THEN HOLLEY CHEVROLET OF BROWNWOOD TEXAS, HAD ONE ON THE SHOWROOM FLOOR. I THINK THE VETT WILL ALWAYS TURN HEADS AND BE THE CAR OF MANY DREAMS TO COME. I KNOW IT’S STILL THE CAR OF MY DREAMS. THANKS GM FOR AN SUCH AN ELLIGANT CAR AND THE PART THE VETT HAS PLAYED IN THE HISTORY OF THE AUTO INDUSTRY.
