The Land Rover Defender DC100 concept will make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The company confirms that the production version of the Defender DC100 will be launched in 2015. The concept is part of a four-year plan for the company to create the perfect, modern-day Defender for the 21st century. Too bad, there is no further info about this upcoming car. [Land Rover]
Here is the latest teaser image of the upcoming Infiniti JX Concept. It is set for a introduction at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Sunday August 21st, 2011. Saab has recently showcased the Saab 9-6 concept at the company’s museum in Trollhättan. Based on the Subaru Tribeca, this luxury SUV will be available in a 4-wheel drive system, and will come in two different models: five door version and three door version. At this stage, there’s no info whether Saab will attach the ‘X’ to the end of the name of the production version like the recently released Saab 9-4X. Stay tuned for more updates. The Technical University of Munich will introduce the MUTE car concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011. This electric vehicle uses a 22 PS (16.5 kW / 22 hp) electric motor, which is powered by a 10 kWh lithium-ion battery. This electric motor also distributes power to the rear wheels via a torque vectoring differential. This engine configuration allows the MUTE to accelerate from 0-60km/h (37mph) in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 120km/h (75mph). Stay tuned for more updates. [Auto Bild]
Scion has unveiled the new FR-S sports coupe concept. It is a front-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car that promises to offer exceptional handling and performance. The Scion FR-S is powered by the 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated boxer engine, that features the D4-S injection system. Opel has unveiled the new Zafira Tourer concept, which will have its world debut at the Geneva Auto Show next week. The new concept car features a panorama windshield, a glass roof, and various LEDs to make it look cooler.
