Ford has unveiled an electric variant of their new Focus model. The 2012 Ford Focus Electric is expected to have a range 100 miles on a single charge thanks to its set of LG Chem-supplied lithium-polymer batteries. What’s more, the pure-energy vehicle will benefit from Ford’s state-of-the-art SYNC technology, MyFord Touch driver connect, Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, Sony Audio with HD Radio as well as Active Park Assist. The all new Ford Focus has just been priced in the UK. Scheduled to hit dealerships in March 2011, this medium hatchback will come in four different trim levels including Edge, Zetec, Titanium and Titanium X, and will boast four different engine options; a 1.6-liter 105PS petrol, a 1.6-liter 95PS TDCi, a 1.6-liter 125PS petrol and a 1.6-liter 150PS EcoBoost petrol. Prices will range from 15,995 GBP (about $25,000) for the entry level Edge model and goes up to 21,245 GBP (about $33,000) for the top of the range Titanium X model. [Autoevolution]
The 2012 Ford Cobra Jet Mustang is powered by a 5.4-liter engine from the 2011 SVT Mustang that offers two supercharger options such as a 2.3 liter TVS supercharger or a 4.0 liter Ford Racing Whipple unit. The sports car has an aluminum block engine coupled with a manual transmission and comes with a double keyed crankshaft. The 2012 Cobra Jet Mustang has also been fitted with Manley H-beam connecting rods and low-drag racing brakes. The 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 features a 440-horsepower Hi-Po 302 4V Ti-VCT V8 engine, adjustable front and rear shocks, quad exhausts, Brembo brakes, and an optional Laguna Seca package that removes the rear seat to add a stabilizer brace. There are also a performance-oriented tri-gauge package to the top of the dash, and a front air splitter. [Ford]
Here’s a look at the upcoming 2012 Ford Focus ST that will make its global premiere at the Paris Auto Show this month. This new hatchback will feature a new front bumper with a large grille, new side skirts, a rear roof spoiler, center exhaust pipes and sportier seats (interior).
