
Hyundai today launched the first teaser sketch of the i40 Sedan. The sedan version of the Hyundai i40 has a 2.77 meters wheelbase, 1025 mm of front head room, 1455mm for the shoulder and 1170mm of leg room. The company designed the i40 sedan at their European R&D headquarters in Russelsheim, Germany. The Hyundai i40 Sedan will be introduced at the Barcelona Motor Show on May 12th, 2011. Hyundai today introduced the Blue2 concept at the Seoul Motor Show. It is actually the company’s first sedan-style Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV), which is based on the Blue Link technology. The Hyundai Blue2 concept is powered by an 120hp engine, offering a nice 34.9 Km/liter consumption of pure Fuel Cell Bliss. Too bad, there is no further info about this electric car. Hyundai is reportedly planning on launching the all new Veloster in Australia before the end of 2011. This two seater is said to come in 1.6-liter direct-injected four cylinder engine mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Hyundai has decided to recall more than 280,000 Elantra sedans because of air-bag related problems. The first recall covers approximately 95,783 Elantras from the 2007-2008 manufactured from July 14, 2006, through August 29, 2007. The second recall affects around 188,697 cars from the 2007-2009 built from July 14, 2006, through November 1, 2008. Both Elantra recalls are expected to begin during April 2011. Hyundai has recently unveiled more details of the i40. As a wagon variant, the i40 is actually an European version of the Sonata in the U.S. The Hyundai i40 has been redesigned on the outside to differentiate the continental models. This hatchback is powered by a 1.7-liter diesel engine, which emits just 113 g/km of CO2 emissions. Unique features include heated and reclining front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel and an active de-mist system that automatically detects and clears mist on the windscreen. [WorldCarFans]

The new and updated 2012 Hyundai Genesis sedan has been unveiled today at the Chicago Auto Show. One of the major updates for this year is the introduction of the 2012 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec flagship model. This model is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine equipped with a high-pressure direct injection system (over 2200 psi). The 2012 Hyundai Genesis features a more aggressive front fascia, and grille, new headlights with LED daytime running lights, sportier rocker panels and folding mirrors with integrated puddle lamps. Other specs include re-designed rear lights and 17-inch alloy wheels. [Motor Authority]
