The Mazda3 has been unveiled at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. The new car features standard Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), side-impact air bags, side air curtains, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, color-keyed grille bar, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, MP3 compatible CD player and a piano-black decoration panel. Mazda Motor Corp on Monday launched the Axela Sport 1.5 Smart Edition in Japan. This special edition Mazda Axela is based on the first generation Axela 15C model grade which features Mazda’s spirited 1.5-liter engine. The special edition model comes equipped with a rear roof spoiler that adds an extra touch of sportiness. Five exterior body colors are available: Aurora Blue Mica, Sunlight Silver Metallic, Metropolitan Grey Mica, Black Mica and Crystal White Pearl Mica. Price is 1.498 million yen. [Mazda]
These are several official pictures of the next generation Mazda3 compact sedan that will debut at the LA Auto Show next month. Mazda today unveiled its new Kiyora concept car at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The word “Kiyora” means to “clean and pure” in Japanese. That’s why the new concept car uses extra light-weight materials including carbon fiber. This car is also more compact than the current Mazda2. Kiyora is powered by a direct-injection 1.3L powerplant engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. CO2 emissions are also impressive at just 90 g/km. [LeftLaneNews]
