
Toyota has unveiled its upcoming hybrid sedan for the Japanese market namely the Toyota Sai. This luxury sedan will be offered in two trim levels: S and AS. Meanwhile, power will come from a 2.4-liter petrol engine with 150 hp and 187Nm of torque. As for the electric motor, it will be powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery pack that output 140 hp and 270Nm of torque. The 2010 Toyota Sai will go on sale in December with prices start at 3,380,000 Yen (about $37,259) for the S model and 4,260,000 Yen (about $46,964) for the AS model. [EasyCarBlog]

Toyota has released the all new 2010 Toyota Mark X in Japan. The car is available in two different models, Sports (250G S, 250G S Relax Selection and 350S variants) and Premium (standard and L variants). These models are equipped with a choice of two engine configurations, either with a 3.5-liter V6 engine or a 2.5-liter V6 engine. Meanwhile, prices start at 2.38 million Yen (about $26,200) for the base model and goes up to 3.8 million Yen (about $41,800) for the top of the range model. [Autoevolution]

Folks at Japan’s Motor Magazine have posted a video showing the Toyota FT-86 concept, the Honda CR-Z Hybrid coupe concept, the Mitsubishi PX-MiEV SUV concept, the Mazda Kiyora concept and the production version of the Nissan Leaf, which will be exhibited at the upcoming 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. Toyota has released pictures of the Toyota FT-86 concept that will be exhibited at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show this month. It is a compact, rear-wheel drive sports concept car that is powered by a 2,000cc, horizontally opposed, four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated gasoline engine developed to convey the essential appeal of automobiles in a new era.
