
Volkswagen has issued a teaser image of the 2012 New Midsize Sedan (NMS), which is a successor to the current Passat. The vehicle will be assembled in 2011 at VW’s Chattanooga assembly plant in Tennessee. The new sedan is intended to go head-to-head with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, carrying a base price of about $20,000 or nearly $7,000 less than the Volkswagen Passat. [WorldCarFans]

Check out the latest styling and performance packages for the 2011 Volkswagen Touareg by ABT Sportsline. Outside, the car receives a new wide body kit which consists of a new front bumper, a newly designed front grille, side skirts and a rear apron with an integrated diffuser. Volkswagen has decided to bring their newest hatchback ‘Golf R‘ to the US market. Scheduled to hit US in 2012, the US version of Golf R will come with a 2.0 TSI turbo four-cylinder direct injection engine (w/ manual transmission) boasting 270 hp and 350 Nm of torque. In terms of performance, the car will have a maximum speed of 250 km/h with 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. Stay tuned for more info. [Autoevolution]

The all new 2011 Volkswagen Caddy has just been launched in Australia. Available in four different models: Caddy Life, Caddy Life Maxi, Caddy Van and Caddy Maxi Van, these compact urban vehicles are offered in four different engine options including two petrols (1.2-liter turbocharged, direct injection with 63kW/160Nm or 77kW/175Nm) and two diesels (1.6-liter TDI with 75kW and 250Nm of torque or 2.0-liter TDI with 103kW and 320Nm of torque) along with two different transmission options: a five-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG. Prices ranging from $21,990 for the entry-level Caddy Van TSI160 five-speed manual model and goes up to $41,990 for the top of the line Caddy Maxi life TDI320 six-speed DSG model. [Car Advice]

The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta is now available at dealers nationwide with a starting price tag of $15,995 for the entry-level S model. This model is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine making 115-hp. Meanwhile, the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SE model is priced at $18,195 and is powered by a 2.5L engine making 170-hp. The top-of-the line 2011 Jetta SEL trim retails for $21,395 and is powered by the same engine that moves the SE model.
