Fiat Fiorino Combi

Fiat Professional has been announced as the official sponsor for the Yamaha Motorbike Racing Team during the 2014 MotoGP.

As part of the deal, Fiat will supply commercial vans to the Yamaha team for transport around the various circuits. The Fiat logo will be present on all of Yamaha’s team equipment as well as on the backdrops for interviews.

A large part of running and managing a successful MotoGP team involves the use of logistics. Moving people, parts and machinery is very important to the success of the team and it will fall to Fiat to assist Yamaha with these operations.

For Fiat, to be associated with the hugely successful Yamaha Team is a fantastic opportunity. To have the Yamaha branding on some of their own stalwarts such as the Fiat Fiorino Combi will also help to raise the profile of its own fleet of cars and vans.

The name Yamaha is synonymous with success in motorcycle racing with over 50 years of Grand Prix wins. Current athletes include two of the most distinguished and respected figures in the history of the sport – Spain’s Jorge Lorenzo and Italy’s Valentino Rossi. Lorenzo has won two championships for Yamaha while Rossi is the most successful rider in the modern history of the MotoGP having won it a total of six times, four of which were won on a Yamaha motorcycle.

Award Winning Vans

The Fiat professional name is given to the fleet of commercial vehicles. The Fiat commercial vehicle line-up boasts low running costs, excellent fuel efficiency and low emissions, as well as outstanding reliability and robustness.

Fiat professional has an ever-growing reputation, having won numerous awards and having received many accolades among the motoring press. The outstanding fleet credentials of the versatile Fiat Fiorino were recognised two years in a row in 2012 and 2013 being named as “best city van” at the fleet van awards.

The Fiat Professional brand was also named Green Van Manufacturer of the Year for 2013 for its efforts to reduce emissions and produce greener more fuel efficient vans.
As well as the awards, Fiat Professional was highly commended in the overall van manufacturer of the year category, recognition of the company’s range of models.

The Fleet Van Awards recognise the achievements of vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators and are judged by a group of industry experts including members of the Fleet Van/ Fleet News editorial team as well as a group of independent van experts.

Lower Running Costs

Sebastiano Fedrigo, Director, Fiat Professional UK, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by the Fleet Van judges for our hard work in making Fiat Professional vehicles as ecologically sound as possible – this not only benefits the environment, it also helps to dramatically lower running costs which makes it a win-win scenario for fleet users.

“We are also delighted to see the Fiat Fiorino scoop the City Van of the Year award for a second time – when it was first launched it redefined the standards of its segment and it continues to provide customers with a winning combination of practicality, comfort, reliability and economy.”

This year a Fiat has already been awarded with the Doblo Cargo winning Light Van of the Year 2014 at the What Van Awards. For the fourth consecutive year the van has finished on top, impressing with its tidy looks, solid build quality and reliability, as well as low running costs and excellent driveability.
