Israeli Flying Car First Test Flight

Urban Aeronautics announced in 2007 that the “air jeep” flying car dubbed the X-Hawk will be ready for flight by 2009. However, this flying car was tested by the US military with unacceptable results.

When fully developed, the craft should be able to achieve vertical takeoff, hover, rotate 360 degrees at a standstill, reach speeds up to 115mph and drop vertically into a landing zone. The flying car will be used for ambulances or general rescue vehicles, and military usage. [The Register]
