New Ford Focus Could Be Powered By A Hybrid Engine

by Joe on July 23, 2010

Word has it that the new Ford Focus could be powered by a turbocharged petrol engine along with an electric motor that is mounted on the car’s rear axle. The upcoming Focus RS will use Ford’s 2.0-liter Ecoboost petrol engine that is capable of churning out 250hp of power to spin the front wheels, while it will couple with an electric motor setup mounted on the rear axle. The advantages of the setup are many including enhanced performance that comes from the high-torque electric motor. [Autocar]
