Aston Martin has announced the new V8 Vantage S, which is available in both coupe and roadster models. The Vantage S’ 4.7-liter V8 engine delivers 430HP and 490Nm (361 lb-ft) of peak torque, representing an increase of 10HP and 20Nm respectively. The V8 is coupled to a new 7-speed Sportshift II gearbox, which has shorter gear ratios and is 20% quicker than the V8 Vantage’s standard 6-speed Sporshift. Other performance upgrades include a revised steering rack ratio, larger front brakes, new springs and dampers and wider rear wheels. [CarScoop]
Aston Martin has come out with a new video of their newly released Aston Martin Vantage N420. To remind you, this special edition car comes with a 4.7-liter V-8 engine that is coupled to either a six-speed manual or optional Sportshift automated manual transmission. Still remember the Lagonda concept which debuted at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show? Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez has said at an event in Amsterdam that the Lagonda concept is going to production. The Lagonda would be an all-wheel drive SUV, which would hold particular appeal in emerging markets such as China, Russia and the Middle East. In case you didn’t know, the Aston Martin One-77 has a monster 7.3 liter V12 engine that delivers 750bhp and 750Nm of torque to the rear wheels. Aston Martin has confirmed that they will release the Toyota iQ-based Cygnet in 2011. The Cygnet is Aston Martin’s answer to increasingly stringent fuel economy and emissions standards. It is powered by a 1.33-liter petrol engine with 97hp (72kW / 98PS) and 91lb-ft (123Nm) of torque. This should enable the car to get a combined 55 mpg (UK) and emit 120 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
