The 2012 BMW M5 Concept is powered by a high-revving 4.4L twin-turbo V8 unit making more than 550-hp and will be mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. The new car concept will be exhibited at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show. Stay tuned for more updates. [egmCarTech]

BMW has introduced another special edition car ‘M3 Matte Edition’ for the Chinese market. Available in both black and grey exterior color options, the car features unique black chrome accents, red brake calipers and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the car is fitted with carbon fiber trim and black leather seats with red contrast stitching. Underneath, the car comes with the same old 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 420 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Pricing info is still unknown at the moment. [GlobalMotors]

BMW has just introduced another entry level coupe for the Australian market. Called the BMW 120i Coupe, the car is equipped with a four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs a total of 115kW. Meanwhile, standard equipments include: sports seats with electric backrest, Boston leather upholstery, sports leather steering wheel, cruise control, rear parking sensors, fog lights, rain sensor, 6-speaker stereo system with Bluetooth and USB, and 17-inch light-alloy wheels. Here is the first spy video of the upcoming BMW i8 hybrid sports car. The i8 will be a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). It is an environment-friendly sportscar, which can go from 0 – 60 mph in just over 4.8 seconds. The BMW i8 has 2+2 seating capacity. Watch the video after the jump. More»
