The Cadillac XTS is a successor to the Cadillac DTS and STS models. As a competitor to the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Cadillac XTS is based on the Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept. The car features the company’s new CUE infotainment system. The 2011 Cadillac Ciel Concept features a hybrid system pairing a lithium-ion battery with a twin-turbocharged, 3.6L V6 engine. Pronounced as “C-L”, which translates to “sky” in French, the Ciel is a four-seat convertible tourer that completely blows the lid off of Cadillac’s new design language, taking it to a level that we’ve never seen before. The concept car has four full-sized doors with suicides in the rear, a polished aluminum windshield frame, an interior borne of body-colored panels, wood, and leather, 22-inch rims featuring brushed nickel plating overtop milled aluminum, carbon ceramic brake rotors, LED lighting elements, and a power-assisted transmission shifter. Cadillac has confirmed that the production version of the Converj Concept will be released very soon. Dubbed as the ELR, the electric coupe adopts the technology from the Chevrolet Volt. Car and Driver has managed to get some informations about the upcoming Cadillac ATS-V. According to them, this compact sedan will pack a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 380 hp. The engine will be coupled to a six-speed gearbox (manual or automatic forms). Meanwhile, top speed is expected in excess of 170 mph with 0-60 mph below five seconds. [Autoevolution]
Cadillac has just added a new engine option to its 2012 Cadillac SRX model. This new version of SRX is equipped with a 3.6-liter direct-injected V6 engine that produces 300 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Other updates worth mentioning include standard Bluetooth phone connectivity on all models, a heated steering wheel on the luxury, performance and premium trim levels and door lock switches on the driver and passenger door panels.
