Citroen Hypnos SUV Concept

by Joe on October 15, 2008 · 0 comments

The Citroen Hypnos sports-based luxury SUV features four 22 inch polished wheels and a rainbow of colors seats on the inside. Each seat is made out of prism-shaped pockets which can be inflated and deflated, allowing passengers to be massaged during the trip. What makes this concept different is that it has a camera located on the roof which captures the facial expression of the driver so that it can change the lighting and fragrance emitted from the vents as and when necessary. The electric-powered Citroen Hypnos will use its diesel engine to recharge the batteries, and has an average fuel economy of 63 mpg. [inventorspot]

Citroen Hypnos Concept Car

Citroën is revealing its new concept car, Hypnos, at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. This elegant and distinctive crossover vehicle combines the styling cues of a sporty coup, the serene comfort of a saloon and the practical space of an SUV. The Hypnos concept is powered by Citroën’s HYmotion4 technology, which is a diesel hybrid drivetrain that propels the car from a rear axle-mounted electric motor. With its 200 bhp (147 kW) engine, Citroën Hypnos combines dynamic performance with low fuel consumption and emissions (4.5 l/100 km and 120 g/km of CO2). [CITROEN]

We here at TechFresh Network are very much into gaming, but apparently not as much as the French are.  For which they’re taking the virtual racer “GTbyCITROËN” from the hit Playstation 3 game Gran Turismo 5 into reality.  This design has a georgeous rear-end (read: large butt) with meticulous design, claimed to create an effect of “retinal persistence”.  The idea is to make the concept car looks visually faster, with streamlined white-to-grey gradation on the body to further emphasize continuous movement.  POLYPHONY, the designers of Gran Turismo, helped co-designed this car.  Retinal persistence, all right.  [Yanko]
