Ford Iosis Max Concept

Ford has unveiled its latest multi-purpose vehicle ‘Iosis Max Concept’ at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. The front-end styling of the concept is said to be a direct preview of the next-generation Focus range, while the rear portion of the car foreshadows the next C-Max. Underneath, the car is powered by a new 1.6-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost motor, which delivers 180 horsepower with 20 percent better fuel economy than conventional motors with similar power. Koenigsegg Quant Concept

Swedish supercar marque Koenigsegg has unveiled its latest four-seater solar electric car at Geneva Motor Show. Dubbed as the NLV Quant, the car has a total output of 512hp with maximum torque of 715Nm this enables the Quant to deliver 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 275 km/h. The all-electric car is powered through a combination of Flow Accumulator Energy Storage (FAES) charged to full capacity in 20 minutes and solar energy supplied via a thin layer photovoltaic coating over the car, delivering a range of in excess of 500km. Protoscar Lampo Electric Roadster Concept

Protoscar has unveiled their latest electric sports car at this week Geneva Motor Show. Dubbed as the Lampo Electric Roadster, this concept car features a twin-motor design and an output of 268hp (199kW) and 440Nm of torque. A 32kWh battery gives the vehicle a claimed range of over 120mi (200km) and using a typical 240V and 10-16amp European household power outlet charge times should take no longer than 12 hours. This two seaters can accelerate from 0-100km/h in five seconds flat and reach a top speed of 200km/h. The car itself will come into production next year. [MotorAuthority] More»

2009 Infiniti Essence Concept

Presented as a concept at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Essence is a celebration of Infiniti and its 20 years history as a creator of performance cars. But equally it is an inspiring exploration into the brand’s future. This petrol-electric hybrid coupe delivers a healthy 592hp (442kW) of power. It features a twin-turbocharged 3.7L V6 engine mated to an electric motor, which can work independently or together as a ‘parallel’ hybrid system. At low speeds, the Essence will emit zero emissions.
