Audi today issued the first sketches and details of the new Urban Concept. Audi’s Urban Concept features free-standing wheels, with surrounding protective plates that integrate LED lights strips. The two passengers of the Urban concept are sitting very low and sporty position inside the car, and the driver is able to adjust the steering wheel and pedals to fit his stature. The roof of the Urban concept is designed to slide to the rear when opened to allow access inside. This means that the passengers are actually entering the concept through its tailgate. The cockpit of the Urban concept is built from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer and integrates the undercarriage of both seats. Infiniti has issued the third teaser image of the JX concept. It is a seven-seat crossover which aims to be the “antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now.” The Infiniti JX features a panoramic sunroof, a crescent-shaped D-pillar and plenty of metallic trim. The Technical University of Munich will introduce the MUTE car concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011. This electric vehicle uses a 22 PS (16.5 kW / 22 hp) electric motor, which is powered by a 10 kWh lithium-ion battery. This electric motor also distributes power to the rear wheels via a torque vectoring differential. This engine configuration allows the MUTE to accelerate from 0-60km/h (37mph) in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 120km/h (75mph). Stay tuned for more updates. [Auto Bild]
The Skoda Fabia RS 2000 design concept is currently on display at the 2011 Worthersee show. Based on the Fabia Super 2000 rally car, the Fabia RS 2000 concept is characterized by a green exterior paint and a sharply sloping windshield, which provides strong open-air driving sensation to the four occupants. Audi has unveiled the A1 Clubsport Quattro concept at the Worthersee Tour 2011 in Austria. The Audi A1 Clubsport Quattro is powered by a turbocharged 2.5 liter engine with turbocharging and direct fuel injection that allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The sports car has a top speed of 155.34 mph. Another area where the Audi A1 Clubsport Quattro shines is its overall weight of only 1,390 Kilograms (3,064 lb). [Audi USA News]
The Aston Martin Zagato Concept is a two-door, two-seat coupe with a handcrafted aluminum body, a bonded aluminum structure and a bespoke steel roll cage. The super car is powered by a mid-front mounted 6.0 liter V12 engine, producing 510bhp (380kW/ 517PS) and 570Nm (420lb ft) of torque coupled to a rear-mounted six-speed automated manual gearbox that drives the rear axle.
