Chevrolet has issued a new Corvette ZR1 commercial video. The standard/ factory version of the Corvette ZR1 is powered by a 6.2 liter LS9 V8 engine that produces 647 horsepower and 819 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The Corvette ZR1 accelerates from 0 to 60mph in 3.4 seconds or 0 to 100 mph (160 km/h) in 7 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). Watch the new Corvette ZR1 commercial video after the jump. GM’s latest Transformers star, the Corvette Stingray concept, was first introduced at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show, and starring in the recently-released Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen as Autobot Sideswipe. General Motors has revealed the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport as it returns to the brand’s illustrious racing heritage. The new Grand Sport combines the Corvette’s LS3-based powertrain with unique, wide-body styling and racing-bred suspension. Beneath the bonnet, the Grand Sport retains the LS3 6.2-liter V8 rated at 430HP (436HP with the optional two-mode exhaust system) and 424 lb-ft or 575Nm of torque that can be matched to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Corvette claims that these upgrades enable cornering capability of 1.0 g, as well as a 0.2-second improvement in 0-60 acceleration compared to the standard LS3-powered models. [LeftLaneNews]
