
Tesla Motors has recently opened a new Tesla Shop in Monte Carlo, Monaco. According to the press release, the shop is conveniently located in the Golden Square of the State, le “Carre d’Or”, and will serve all of Southern Europe. Monaco is the perfect base for their sales and service in Southern Europe and has more potential customers to the little electric Tesla Roadster than most other European cities. [GlobalMotors]

Here are several new pictures of the Tesla Model S. With a range up to 300 miles and 45-minute QuickCharge, the Model S can carry five adults and two children in quiet comfort. Famous electric car manufacturer Tesla will recall 345 Roadsters built between March 2008 and April 2009. Tesla says that, since its dealership network is quite limited, it will send technicians to its customers homes to tighten or replace the bolts, provide a full inspection and upgrade the Roadster’s software free of charge. In addition, Lotus will also recall 27 Elise and Exige vehicles built for the 2009 model year to correct a similar problem. [LeftLaneNews]

The Tesla Roadster may set a new record for distance traveled on a single charge. The car has finished the entire 241-mile-long Rallye Monte Carlo d’Energies Alternatives without draining its battery. The current distance record, a 375-mile run completed by a Solectria Sunrise, is technically longer than the Tesla’s 341-mile achievement. The Tesla’s battery also showed approx. 38 miles of juice left in the battery that is longer than the Solectria’s record. [Reg Hardware]
