General Motors has decided to recall 10,119 Pontiac Vibe hatchbacks over brake vacuum components that can freeze in very low ambient temperatures. GM’s dealers will inspect and modify the brake vacuum lines on those Vibes for free. However, the Pontiac Vibes operated in warmer climate states are not being recalled. [Autoblog]

General Motors is targeting the emerging ultra- low-cost car market with plans to produce a compact for around $4,000 in Asia. This new car will be a direct competitor to the Tata Nano, which is priced at only $2,500 in India. General Motors confirmed the delay production of the Chevrolet Camaro by one month. The start of production had been slated for February 16 at the company’s Oshawa, Ontario, facility, but a Chevrolet spokesman said today that the date has been pushed back to March 16.
