Honda has recently showcased their newest city car in Bangkok, Thailand. Called the Honda Brio, this fuel-efficient car is equipped with a 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission. In terms of safety, the car has 2 front airbags, disc brakes, ABS and EBD. Honda is said to sell 40,000 units of the model each year, in Thailand alone, however, there’s no word on pricing yet. Honda will premiere the new Honda CR-Z TS-1X concept at this year’s Tokyo Auto Show. The Honda CR-Z TS-1X will debut at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on January 14, 2011 until January 16, 2011. The CR-Z TS-1X is described as a “test study” model and is fitted with a range of accessories including a full bodykit, new wheels and matte black paint scheme. We have a review video of the 2011 Honda Jazz Hybrid. This eco-friendly car is powered by a 1.3 liter i-VTEC engine that sends the power to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox. The Japanese car maker claims the Honda Jazz Hybrid has the lowest CO2 emissions level of the B Segment. The Honda Jazz Hybrid is based on the revised version of the model, and features new headlights and rear lights, new bumpers and a re-designed front grille. The 2014 Honda NSX is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine coupled with an electric motor. The 2014 Honda NSX is expected to output more than 400hp, which will mostly go to the rear wheels (AWD drive system). For your info, Honda has previously tested a version of the 2014 NSX with a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive architecture, but unfortunately it was abandoned. [ZerCustom]
The 2011 Honda CR-Z Mugen-accessorized version will enter production in the Spring of 2011. Only 300 of these kits will go on sale in the U.S. The package consists of a full MUGEN body kit, 17-inch “XJ” aluminum wheels, a front grille, rear wing spoiler, sport mats, a unique black aluminum shift knob and a billet aluminum oil-filler cap. Honda has started selling the hybrid version of the Fit in Japan with a starting price of US$19,310. At that price, the Honda Fit Hybrid is not only the most affordable of all Honda hybrid vehicles, but is also the cheapest hybrid in the company’s domestic market. Too bad, Honda has no plans to release the Honda Fit Hybrid in the United States. This model will go on sale in Europe in early 2011 and will be known as the Honda Jazz Hybrid. [egmCarTech]
