
Volvo will unveil its XC60 plug-in hybrid concept at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The car uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine that powers the front wheels and an electric motor that drives the rear wheels. This engine combination produces a 350 horse power, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 Mph in only 5.8 seconds. The Volvo XC60 also features an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 12 kWh battery that is located beneath the cargo area. [MotorTrend]

BMW has announced the pricing of the BMW ActiveHybrid 5. The sedan will be available in Germany from the base price of €62,900($85,734). For your info, the BMW ActiveHybrid 5 is powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine, which is combined with an electric drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine configuration allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). [autoevolution]

The car will take the newlyweds on their tour through the streets of Monaco after the ceremony and promises to operate in zero-emission electric mode for more than 85 percent of the parade. Hyundai Motor America has finally unveiled the pricing for its all-new 2011 Sonata Hybrid. This eco-friendly car comes in two models such as the very well-equipped Sonata Hybrid at $25,795, and the incredibly well-equipped, tech-feature-packed Premium version at $30,795. The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid features the Hybrid Blue Drive technology and Lithium-polymer batteries. The car delivers a segment-leading 40-mpg highway fuel economy rating, which is higher than any other mid-size sedan, hybrid or non-hybrid. The Japanese car maker claims the Honda Jazz Hybrid has the lowest CO2 emissions level of the B Segment.
