New Audi A8 Hybrid With 2.0-Liter 4-Cylinder Engine

Audi has debuted the Audi A8 Hybrid at Geneva Motor Show 2010. This gasoline-electric hybrid version of the 2011 Audi A8 is scheduled to enter production next year. The car is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder gasoline engine with 211HP and 350 Nm (258.15 lb-ft) and an electric motor delivering 45HP and 211 Nm (155.63 lb-ft) of torque. The 2.0 TSI engine is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission while the electric motor draws energy from a lithium-ion battery pack mounted at the rear. This hybrid car is said to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 235 km/h. [The New York Times]

Lexus To Introduce CT 200h Compact Hybrid At Geneva Motor Show

Lexus is set to introduce its first compact hybrid model ‘CT 200h’ at next week’s Geneva Motor Show. This new hatchback is powered by a 1.8-liter VVT-i petrol engine paired to an electric motor, and comes with an E-CVT transmission that offers three different driving modes including ECO, SPORT and NORMAL.
