Toyota will begin manufacturing its Prius hybrid in Thailand starting from November 2010. The car will be built at the firm’s Gateway Plant, near the Thai capital Bangkok, where it also makes the Corolla, Camry, Camry Hybrid and other models. Honda has started selling the hybrid version of the Fit in Japan with a starting price of US$19,310. At that price, the Honda Fit Hybrid is not only the most affordable of all Honda hybrid vehicles, but is also the cheapest hybrid in the company’s domestic market. Too bad, Honda has no plans to release the Honda Fit Hybrid in the United States. This model will go on sale in Europe in early 2011 and will be known as the Honda Jazz Hybrid. [egmCarTech]

The 2011 Nissan Altima sedan, coupe and hybrid are now available at Nissan dealers nationwide. The 2011 Altima sedan continues to be available in a number of well-equipped models, including 175-hp 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder and 270-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine equipped models. Meanwhile, the 2011 Altima Coupe models are limited to two new exterior colors including Metallic Slate and Brilliant Silver. And finally, the 2011 Nissan Altima hybrid is powered by a version of Nissan’s QR25 2.5L 4-cylinder engine and standard electronically controlled CVT with an advanced electric drive motor/generator. Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupe – Test Video

Fifth Gear has rolled out a new test video of the Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupe, showing the car being tested on public roads by Vicki Butler-Henderson. Honda has recently announced the upcoming CR-Z Hybrid Coupe price for the US market. This hybrid coupe will be available in three different trim levels including base, EX and EX with Navi, along with two different transmission options: a 6-speed manual or the company’s CVT gearbox. Power itself will come from a 1.5-liter iVTEC 4-cylinder engine and an Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system. Prices will range from $19,200 for the base model (6-speed manual) to $22,560 for the top of the range model (6-speed manual). The diesel-hybrid version of Evolution XI is designed to accelerate from 0-60 in under 5 seconds, while emitting well under 200 g/km CO2.
