2011 Hyundai Sonata

Hyundai has announced the 2011 Hyundai Sonata at a special event in Korea. Codenamed “YF”, the Korean version comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 165 horsepower and delivering 30 mpg. The North American model is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with direct injection that produces around 200 horsepower. There is also a 3.5-liter V6 model that produces around 250 horsepower. In addition to the two U.S. models mentioned above, Hyundai will also release the Sonata Hybrid that will use lithium polymer batteries. The regular models of Sonata should start production for the U.S at Hyundai’s Alabama factory in the summer of 2010, while the Sonata Hybrid will enter production stage sometime in 2011. 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 Is Official

The BMW X6 ActiveHybrid is now officially released. The gas-electric hybrid will be the most powerful hybrid car in history, with 480HP and 575 lb-ft of torque. The car is powered by a twin electric motors (delivering 91 hp and 86 hp, respectively) and a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine. The new X6 accelerates from 0 to 60mph in only 5.4-seconds with the top speed of 130mph. The official public debut is scheduled for the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2009 and the release date is slated for four-quarter 2009. [Autoblog]

KIA Forte LPI - First Commercialized Hybrid Electric Vehicle

KIA Motors has recently unveiled its first commercialized hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), the Forte Liquid Petroleum Injection (LPI) Hybrid in Seoul, South Korea. KIA Motors has invested approximately $180 million over a period of 25-months to develop the eco-friendly Forte LPI Hybrid. The green car provides a superior fuel efficiency rating of 17.8 Km/liter with CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km. More»

Honda CR-Z Sporty Hybrid and Fit Hybrid

Honda is ready to release two new hybrid cars in Japan next year. The CR-Z sporty hybrid model will hit the store in February 2010, meanwhile the Fit Hybrid will be available at the end of 2010.
