Scion IQ Concept

Toyota has unveiled the Scion IQ concept at the New York Auto Show yesterday. The car looks similar to the Toyota IQ city car now on sale in Europe. The IQ is billed as a 3+1, which means it could carry three adults and a child, or some luggage. The car itself is powered by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that develops 93 horsepower and 89lb-ft of torque. No word yet on if this will go into production. More»

2009 Toyota iQ Revealed

Toyota showed off its super compact, C-segment iQ to the world in Geneva today. The iQ is called a 3+1, meaning it is capable of carrying up to three adults along with a child or luggage in comfort. The iQ measures 2,985mm in length with a 2,000mm wheelbase, which aids in both drivability and interior volume. At launch one engine will be available: a 1.0-litre VVT-i petrol unit with a choice of five-speed manual or a new Multidrive CVT system. The IQ will go on sale late 2008, with production expected to be around 100,000 units during its first year. [TopSpeed]
