
Celebrating Range Rover’s 40th anniversary, Land Rover has unleashed a limited edition version of Range Rover in the UK. Called the Range Rover Autobiography Black, the car comes in Barolo Black finish and features a unique front grille with Titan grille mesh, a bright chrome grille ‘U’ edge, a black grille surround, Diamond Turned, body colored door handles, an Autobiography Black tailgate badge and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels. Limited to just 700 units globally, the Range Rover Autobiography Black Limited Edition is available in the UK starting today, though its price has not been mentioned yet. [Autoevolution]

Land Rover will release the “range_e” diesel-electric hybrid that is based on the company’s Range Rover Sport model. Land Rover will begin prototype testing later this year. Production of the range_e will begin in late 2012, with the diesel-electric SUV set to hit dealer lots in early 2013. Here’s a look at the upcoming 2010 Land Rover Freelander 2 Sport for the British market. The car will be offered in two different color options namely Santorini Black and Lago Grey, and equipped with a powerful yet economical 2.2-liter TD4 diesel power engine. Other interesting specs will include 19-inch limited edition diamond-turned alloy wheels, a unique two-tone interior together with a rear spoiler, color-keyed exterior trim and matching door handles and mirror casings. The British automaker Land Rover is ready to launch the hybrid version of its Range Rover Sport in 2010. This model will use a 3.0L diesel V6 in conjunction with a 25kW electric motor that will be capable of traveling up to 20 miles on electric power alone. Jaguar and Land Rover Korea today announced its upgraded “New Discovery 4″ in South Korea. This premium family SUV is currently available in three variants including a 5.0-liter V8 engine, a 3.0-liter TDV6 engine and a 2.7-liter TDV6 engine. Land Rover will soon bring a new entry-level crossover model to market thanks to a grant from the British government. The U.K. government has confirmed a £27 million ($37.9 million) cash infusion towards a vehicle that would based on the Land Rover LRX Concept. The LRX Concept was first revealed at last year’s Detroit Auto Show and featured a 2.0-liter turbodiesel hybrid powertrain, allowing it to get 30 percent better fuel-economy over comparably-sized SUVs and crossovers.
