Lexus today unveiled the official LS 600h Landaulet, which will be used by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and Carlene Wittstock as their official royal wedding car on July 2, 2011. The Lexus LS 600h Landaulet features a special one-piece transparent polycarbonate roof, a Kevlar bodyshell and carbon fiber honeycomb structures. After the event, the car will be displayed at the Media Center and at the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco. No word on pricing at this moment. More»
Volvo Car Corporation has introduced the Volvo Concept Universe at the Shanghai Auto Show. The Concept Universe is a large, luxurious sedan with a new human-centric design language that honors the beautiful lines of classic Volvo models. The Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond Edition is powered by a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine combined with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine configuration produces a 556-horsepower. The Mercedes-Benz SLK has a slick, auto-retracting roof known as the Vario-Roof. The 2012 model will have a new $2,800 option called the Magic Sky Control, which will allow the glass roof to be made either transparent or darkened at the push of a button. The Magic Sky Control roof is embedded with tiny particles that either align under voltage to allow light to pass through, or randomly scramble to make it opaque. [eMercedesBenz]
Bentley has started offering special-edition models of the Continental GT with the introduction of the Continental Supersports. The car is powered by a 6.0L twin-turbo W12 engine making 567-hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The Bentley Continental Supersports accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 198mph.
