BMW has decided to recall seven models of the Mini series built between 2007 and 2011. The carmaker is recalling 235,535 worldwide, including 88,911 cars in the U.S. The recall is due to the problem in the electronic circuit board that controls the electric auxiliary water pump, which cools the engine’s turbocharger. This water pump failure can overheat, causing a fire. The faulty water pumps will be replaced free of charge. [LA Times]

Mini has launched the first commercial for its 5th model, the Mini Cooper Coupe. The video shows the Mini Coupe in various locations across the globe. The German aftermarket specialists from Wetterauer Engineering GmbH today introduced a special personalization program for the Mini Countryman. Wetterauer increases the output of the Mini Countryman to 235PS and 355Nm of torque by adding a carbon air box, a re-programmed ECU and H&R suspension springs for improved handling.
