Here’s a glance at another upcoming minivan from Toyota, the Toyota Prius V. Introduced at this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, this minivan is equipped with a 1.8-liter four cylinder petrol engine and an electric-driven motor that runs on batteries. The car also boasts four different driving mode setting including Normal, Power, Eco and EV, just like the current Toyota Prius hatch. Toyota is planning on launching the Toyota Prius V in the US during the second half of 2011, however, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Car Advice]
Volkswagen UK has finally unveiled pricing details for the redesigned Caddy LCV and Caddy Maxi in Britain. The 2011 Caddy van is priced at £12,100 or $18,695 (excluding VAT) for the 1.6-liter 75HP TDI model, while the Caddy Maxi retails for £14,050 or $21,708 (excluding VAT) for the entry-level model equipped with a 1.6-liter 102HP TDI engine. All models come equipped with ESP, ABS, Traction Control System (TCS), automatic hazard lights activation under emergency braking, a driver’s airbag, speed sensitive power steering, remote central locking and a CD stereo with an AUX-in socket. Celebrating the company’s 90th anniversary, Mazda has launched a special edition version of its Biante in Japan called the Biante 20S Navi Special. Limited to just 400 units, this eight-seater minivan comes with a voice-controlled HDD navigation system, parking assist and Mazda’s start and stop system. Prices ranging from 2,572,500 Yen (about $28,000) for the FWD model with a 2.0-liter DISI engine paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission and goes up to 2,861,500 Yen (about $31,000) for the 4WD model with the same engine but a 4-speed automatic transmission. Peugeot has recently released the all new 2010 Peugeot Bipper Tepee. Coming in two different trim levels: S and Outdoor, the car is offered with either a 1.4-liter petrol engine fitted to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 1.4-liter HDi diesel engine mated to either a conventional 5 speed manual gearbox or electronically controlled 5 speed manual gearbox.
