
Isuzu is set to unleash their newest pickup truck ‘D-Max’ in Australia in the first half of next year. Coming in Single Cab, Space Cab and Crew Cab body styles, the 2012 D-Max is available in either 2WD or 4WD configuration along with two different diesel engines: a 2.5-liter unit with 87kW/280Nm or 101kW/320Nm and a 3.0-liter unit with 132kW/380Nm. SsangYong has just showcased the production version of its 2012 SsangYong SUT-1 at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Coming in both rear-wheel drive and part-time all-wheel drive configurations, this new pickup truck is equipped with a 2.0-liter diesel engine (w/ either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission) that produces a 114kW of power and 360Nm of torque. In terms of safety, the car comes with electronic stability control, dual airbags, four-wheel disc brakes, front and rear fog lights and a reversing warning system. The all new 2012 Toyota Tacoma has just been priced in the US. Available in three different trims levels, this compact pickup truck is offered in three different body types including Regular Cab, Access Cab and Double Cab, and two different configurations: a rear-wheel-drive model or an all-wheel-drive model. Under the hood, power comes from either a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 159 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque or a V6 unit with a displacement of four liters that outputs 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. Chrysler has decided to recall 242,780 Ram pickup trucks over a steering failure that could lead to “a loss of directional stability”. The recall affects certain Ram 2500/3500 4×4 and Ram 3500 Cab Chassis 4×2 models manufactured from February 14, 2008 through March 28, 2011. It also affects the Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4×4 models manufactured from February 14, 2008 until August 15, 2008. Mazda has recently released a special edition version of BT-50 in South Africa called the BT-50 EDGE. Limited to just 300 units, this sports activity vehicle features a new exterior styling kit which includes decals to the lower front corners of the doors, new front and rear scuff plates, new stainless steel detailing and some chrome for the mirrors. Meanwhile, the cabin is fitted with an in-dash 6-CD changer with MP3 capability, air conditioning, power windows and remote central locking.
