
The Mercedes-Benz SLK has a slick, auto-retracting roof known as the Vario-Roof. The 2012 model will have a new $2,800 option called the Magic Sky Control, which will allow the glass roof to be made either transparent or darkened at the push of a button. The BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800 is claimed to be the world’s most powerful and fastest luxury sedan. The SV12 R Biturbo 800 engine allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 3.9 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). The sedan also comes equipped with a new aerodynamics package and loads of extra interior equipment. [AVING]

Toyota will begin manufacturing its Prius hybrid in Thailand starting from November 2010. The car will be built at the firm’s Gateway Plant, near the Thai capital Bangkok, where it also makes the Corolla, Camry, Camry Hybrid and other models. The North American version of the revised Nissan GT-R supercar will make its first public appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 17th, 2010. General Motor’s South Korean Daewoo unit has confirmed that it will handle initial production of the new Chevrolet Aveo at its local Bupyeong plant in Incheon. The new Chevy Aveo is longer and wider than the current model, giving it a spacious interior and cargo volume that is among best in class. The car will make its debut under the Daewoo brandname in the South Korean market in the first half of 2011. In Europe, the Chevy Aveo will be available in four petrol engines, including two 1.2-liter units delivering 70HP and 86HP, a 100HP 1.4-liter and a 115HP 1.6-liter powerplant. There is also a 1.3-liter turbo diesel engine featuring Start/Stop technology that will be available with either 75HP or 90HP. [Daewoo]

Fifth Gear has rolled out a new test video of the 2011 Infiniti M37, showing the car being tested on public roads by Vicki Butler-Henderson. To refresh your memory, this luxury sedan is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 petrol engine that produces a total of 316 hp, allowing the car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
