FAB Design SLR Desire

Specialist Mercedes Benz tuner FAB Design has released the SLR Desire, an upgraded version of the SLR which incorporates all kinds of improvements, including aesthetic and engineering enhancements. Engine performance has been improved to generate a maximum power of 750 hp and 1,080 Nm of torque. The car is capable of sprinting from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h. Unfortunately, there’s no chance to get one of these cars because FAB Design limited the production to 15 units, with all models already delivered to buyers across the world. More»

Mercedes SLR 722 Special Edition

The SLR 722 cabrio is the special edition version of the standard SLR and will most likely boast the same 5.4-litre, V8 AMG, supercharged engine that drives its hard-top relative. It should perform at about 650bhp, a 0-60mph time of around 3.0 seconds and an enormous 800Nm plus of torque. It looks almost identical to the standard model, except for its canvas roof. The special edition roadster gets its name from the famous Stirling Moss victory in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR which displayed on it, the number 722. Details on the 722 roadster’s are scarce but it should be out early 2009 and it is expected it will carry a price tag of around £400,000. [Autoexpress]
