Audi Q3 SUV Confirmed For Production

Audi has confirmed that it will put the Q3 SUV into production in 2011. The new car will be built at the SEAT site in Spain, and Audi expects to invest €300 million in the car and produce 80,000 units annually. Audi describes the car as “a coupe-like five door SUV with seat positions, wheel size and ground clearance characteristic of a typical SUV.” [GlobalMotors]

BMW showed off its X5 M SUV concept during 2009 Shanghai Auto Show. The car is powered by V8 Twin Turbo engine that produces 555 horsepower. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in only 4.7 seconds. Mitsubishi Outlander GT Prototype Unveiled

Mitsubishi introduced the Outlander GT Prototype at New York Auto Show. The car is packed with a host of new technologies including Idle Neutral Logic, which automatically shifts the transmission into neutral during vehicle standstill. Daimler announced today that it will showcase the production version of Mercedes ML450 Hybrid SUV at 2009 New York Auto Show. Mercedes Benz G-Class

Magna Steyr has just announced that it has had its contract with Mercedes Benz extended to continue building the G-Class until at least the end of 2015. Around 200,000 examples of the rugged, boxy SUV have been built thus far by the Austrian manufacturer at its Graz facility over the last 30 years. Mercedes has also released a pair of special edition models to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the G-Class that are sure to see a few more numbers added to the 200,000 already sold.
