BAW B40 SUV

The Beijing Automobile Works (BAW) has recently showed off its off-road style SUV B40 at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show. Its off-road style has caught lots of attention from Chinese consumers. The BAW B40 is expected to come to the market in second quarter this year. This new SUV is powered by a 2.4L engine with 5-speed manual transmission that produces 141hp and 217N/m highest torque at 3000-4000 rpm. [Auto163]

Nissan will build the Murano SUV at its St Petersburg factory in Russia. The start of production is planned for the beginning of 2011. This model is for the Russian market only and not for export. It is expected that the St. Petersburg plant will produce 50,000 cars per year once it reaches its full capacity. Nissan will also open 20 more dealerships throughout Russia as part of its plans to boost sales to more than 70,000 units this year, up from around 62,000 in 2009. [CarScoop]

The Chrysler Jeep Patriot is touted as the first American car to be covered by the Japan’s eco-car subsidy program. Powered by a 2.4-liter engine, Chrysler’s new compact SUV has managed to clear the minimum mileage requirement for the Japanese government’s subsidy system for eco-friendly cars. 2010 Dodge Journey Hits UK

The all new 2010 Dodge Journey has finally arrived on the UK market. This new seven seater is offered in three different versions namely SE, SXT and R/T along with two different engine options: a 2.4-liter petrol or a 2.0-liter diesel. Standard features include 16-inch steel wheels, tire pressure monitoring, power-folding and heated door mirrors, electric windows and six-disc CD with MP3 compatible sound system. Kia is set to release a special edition Soul for the US market called the Ignition. This limited edition car will feature an orange exterior finish with black rally stripes, a rear spoiler and a set of 18-inch wheels.
