Toyota Will Release $50,000 Hydrogen Sedan In 2015

Toyota has promised that they will release the hydrogen-powered sedan by 2015, which it aims to price at $50,000. Toyota says that the company has managed to cut the production costs for hydrogen vehicles to a level that is approximately 1/10th the levels in the mid-2000s. The $50,000 price is still high, but Toyota and some analysts believe that in the long term, hydrogen-powered cars can become more cost effective than the currently more affordable battery powered vehicles. Toyota will launch the new Toyota Prius Minivan sometime next year. FYI, the car was introduced as the FT-CH. concept at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroid. Toyota has recently showcased the all new 2011 Toyota Avalon at this year’s Chicago Auto Show. The car features a wider front grille, newly designed headlamps, a trapezoidal front bumpers, redesigned rocker panels, dual-exhaust pipes and new rear light clusters. Meanwhile, power comes from a 24-valve, dual-overhead cam 3.5-liter V6 engine coupled to a multi-mode six-speed automatic transmission that generates 268 hp at 6,200 rpm. Not to mention, the engine is also equipped with the latest dual VVT-i electronic valve-control mechanism for providing a broader powerband. Toyota Recalls 170000 Prius Hybrid Cars In Japan

Toyota Japan has decided to recall the latest model of its Prius hybrid sold in the Japanese market due to complaints over brake problems. The company will recall and repair for free more than 170,000 units of the Prius car, which went on the market last May. Toyota Temporarily Halts Sales Of Selected Models

Toyota has decided to recall and sales halt of selected 2009-2010 models, including the RAV4, Corolla, Matrix, Avalon, Camry (selected models), Highlander, Tundra, and Sequoia. No Lexus or Scion models have been recalled because these models are built in Japan. Toyota has also confirmed that the Camry Hybrid and Highlander Hybrid are not included in the sales suspension.
