Volkswagen has showcased their newest concept car at the 2011 Worthersee. Called the Golf R Cabriolet Concept, this open-top vehicle is equipped with some exterior modifications like an aggressive front bumper, modified side skirts, carbon mirror caps and a center mounted dual sports exhaust system. Other highlights include sport suspensions, enormous brakes with orange painted brake calipers and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with high performance tires. Underneath, power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 270PS and 350Nm of torque (top speed 250 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds). The Volkswagen Transporter Sportline uses a 2.0-litre BiTDI diesel engine which delivers 180 PS to the wheels via a standard 6-speed manual, or an optional 7-speed DSG transmission. This SUV features a semi-automatic air conditioning, a multimedia system with a 7-inch color touch screen, rear parking sensors and Bluetooth connectivity. The Transporter Sportline also has polished stainless steel side bars, 18-inch “Sportline 5-spoke” alloys, smoked rear lights, and a rear roof spoiler. Volkswagen has just announced the availability of their new hatchback ‘Golf BlueMotion’ in Australia. This fuel efficient vehicle is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine (w/ five-speed manual transmission) that produces 77kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. Mr Car Design hits back by bringing you their latest styling and performance packages for the VW T5 Transporter. Outside, the car is equipped with a new aerodynamic kit from Abt Sportsline which includes a front-and-rear spoiler, a new grill, fog light inserts and side skirts. 2011 Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35

To celebrate Golf GTI’s 35th birthday, Volkswagen is gearing up to launch the new Golf GTI Edition 35. This special edition car will feature revised front and rear bumpers, smoky light lenses, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, glossy black plastic grille and side mirror trim, new alloy wheels, new seats and ’35′ badging inside and out. As for the engine, it will be powered by a revised version of the 2.0-liter TSI engine. The Golf GTI Edition 35 will be launched at this year’s Worthersee Hot Hatch Festival in Austria on June 1st, with prices starting from 30,425 Euro (about $43,634) in Germany. More»

Volkswagen Polo R WRC

Volkswagen has unveiled the new Polo R WRC rally car. The four-wheel-drive rally car will be powered by a 1.6-liter TSI engine, developing almost 300hp. The engine of the Volkswagen Polo R WRC will probably be mated to a sequential transmission. Additionally, the VW Polo R WRC will be equipped with direct injection and turbocharging, as stipulated by FIA’s World Rally Championship regulations. The picture above also shows that the Polo WRC rally car has a new widebody aerodynamics package, a new hood with various vents, a gigantic rear wing and a roof air scoop.
