Volkswagen NILS Concept

Volkswagen has unveiled their latest concept car, the Volkswagen NILS Concept. Designed for urban mobility, this single-seat electric vehicle is powered by an electric motor with a nominal output of 20 hp and a short-term peak output of 34 hp. The car offers a driving range of up to 65 km (40 miles) from a full charge (two hours of charge time) and has a top speed of 130 km/h (80 mph). The all new 2011 Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35 is scheduled to hit Australian market in September. Limited to just 200 units, this five-door hatchback will be sold for $43,490 for the six-speed manual model or $45,990 for the six-speed DSG model. Just to remind you, the Edition 35 is powered by a revised version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine from the Golf R, which produces 173kW of power and 300Nm of torque. [Car Advice]


The upcoming 2012 Volkswagen Golf VI Cabriolet has just been priced in the UK. This open-top vehicle will come in three different trim levels including S, SE and GT along with three different engine options: 1.2-liter TSI 105 PS, 1.4-liter TSI 160 PS and 1.6-liter TDI 105 PS. Prices will range from 20,720 GBP (about $33,232) for the entry-level S 1.2 105 PS TSI 6spd man model and goes up to 26,595 GBP (about $42,655) for the top of the range GT 1.4 TSI 160 PS 7spd DSG model. Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet Concept

Volkswagen has showcased their newest concept car at the 2011 Worthersee. Called the Golf R Cabriolet Concept, this open-top vehicle is equipped with some exterior modifications like an aggressive front bumper, modified side skirts, carbon mirror caps and a center mounted dual sports exhaust system. Other highlights include sport suspensions, enormous brakes with orange painted brake calipers and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with high performance tires. Underneath, power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 270PS and 350Nm of torque (top speed 250 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds). Volkswagen Transporter Sportline

The Volkswagen Transporter Sportline uses a 2.0-litre BiTDI diesel engine which delivers 180 PS to the wheels via a standard 6-speed manual, or an optional 7-speed DSG transmission. This SUV features a semi-automatic air conditioning, a multimedia system with a 7-inch color touch screen, rear parking sensors and Bluetooth connectivity. The Transporter Sportline also has polished stainless steel side bars, 18-inch “Sportline 5-spoke” alloys, smoked rear lights, and a rear roof spoiler. Volkswagen has just announced the availability of their new hatchback ‘Golf BlueMotion’ in Australia. This fuel efficient vehicle is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine (w/ five-speed manual transmission) that produces 77kW of power and 250 Nm of torque.
