Volkswagen has decided to recall its Routan minivan due to fire risk. Volkswagen has clarified that the recall for its Routan minivan affects only its 2009 model year vehicles, and that it will cover 15,902 units. The potential for fire stems from an improperly routed wire, which can rub against metal, eventually exposing a wire that could cause a short circuit, and potentially start a fire. [LeftLaneNews]
The latest Volkswagen Polo V sedan has been unveiled in Russia. Measuring 172-inch x 66.9-inch x 57.5-inch, the sedan is powered by a 1,6-liter engine that produces 105 horsepower and two transmissions to choose such as a 5-step manual or a 6-speed Tiptronic. Buyers will experience standard features such as a height-adjustable driver’s seat, an onboard computer and power windows. Volkswagen has showcased the all new Golf GTI Adidas at the Worthersee Show in Europe. This special edition car comes with a set of 18-inch alloy wheels, smokes rear lights, bi-xenon cornering lights, newly designed sport seats by Adidas, color contrasting door tread plates, special interior accents and fabric floor mats with pretty borders. The all new 2011 Volkswagen Phaeton has just been showcased at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show. The car gets a new face with bi-xenon headlights, LED running lights, a new grille, re-designed front wings, a new bonnet and a revised front bumper. Meanwhile, the engine is available in four different options, a 206kW V6 petrol, a 176kW V6 TDI, a 246kW V8 petrol and a 331kW W12 petrol units. The all new 2011 VW Touran has just been showcased at the Leipzig Motor Show. The car uses the same design as found in Polo, Golf and new Touareq, which includes a new front grille, front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels and chrome-edged rubbing strips. Under the hood, there are 2 different engine options available including the petrol line-up: a 1.2-liter TSI with 105 PS and a 1.4-liter TSI with 140 PS, and the diesel line-up: a 1.6-liter TDI with 90 or 105 PS and a 2.0-liter TDI with 140 or 170 PS. The 2011 VW Touran will go on sale in the UK in September, however, pricing details are still unknown at the moment. More»
