
Volkswagen is set to introduce its new Volkswagen Golf GTD at the Leipzig Motor Show in Germany tomorrow. The new GTD boasts a 2-liter turbocharged diesel that develops 170 horsepower and uses in average only 5.3-liters of gasoline per 100 km (44.3 mpg). The car goes from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 222 km/h (138 mph). The engine is mated to either a standard 6-speed manual transmission or optional 6-speed DSG automatic. The Golf GTD will available starting May for unannounced price yet. [GlobalMotors]
